Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson is refusing to get carried away by talk of winning an unprecedented quintuple this season.
United lifted their second trophy of the season after overcoming Tottenham in the final of the Carling Cup in a penalty shoot-out.Ferguson's side head the Premier League by seven points and are still in contention in the FA Cup and UEFA Champions League.
However, the veteran Scot is taking nothing for granted ahead of this Wednesday's league trip to Newcastle.
"The great advantage I have is I won't get carried away with it," said Ferguson.
"We'll keep our feet on the ground. It would be great to think we could do it but my experience says we could go to Fulham next weekend, get a deflected shot off someone's backside and we're out of the FA Cup."
Premiership rivals Liverpool slumped to defeat at Middlesbrough on Saturday to leave United seven points clear, with a game in hand.
"But it was a good weekend for us - you hope your opponents drop points.
"I don't think anyone is any different. When one of your opponents drops points you are delighted. It is a horrible game like that.
"But we could drop points on Wednesday and our opponents could win their games. Who knows? The best thing we can do is gather ourselves and energise ourselves for Newcastle on Wednesday.
"I'll freshen it up in some positions and, hopefully, we'll get the result we want."
